Definition

Defendant intentionally interferes with plaintiff's reasonable expectation of economic benefit from prospective business relationship. More difficult to prove than contract interference. Requires showing probability of future relationship and defendant's improper interference. Protects expected economic opportunities beyond existing contracts.
