Definition

Invasion of privacy by publicly portraying person in false light that would be highly offensive to reasonable person. Similar to defamation but focuses on emotional distress and offense rather than reputation. Requires widespread publicity. Falsity may be embellishment or implication, not just outright lies. Actual malice required if matter of public concern.
