Pronunciation: in-TENT ree-KWIRE-ment
Torts › Against Property
For intentional torts, defendant must intend the act and resulting contact, confinement, or invasion - not necessarily the harm or knowledge that act is wrongful. Knowledge to substantial certainty that consequence will occur satisfies intent. Transferred intent doctrine applies. Purpose or desire to cause result not required if substantially certain.
